Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and the developer of StoragePilot. It covers what you may do with the app, and — most importantly for an app that deletes files — where responsibility sits when something goes wrong.
Last updated 23 August 2026 · Applies to StoragePilot for Android 1.0.0
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms form an agreement between you and the independent developer who publishes StoragePilot (“the developer”, “we”). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app; uninstalling it ends the agreement.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are using the app on a device you do not own, you confirm you have the owner’s permission to delete files on it.
2. Licence to use the app
StoragePilot is provided free of charge. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it on devices you control, for your own purposes.
You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app; and except where the law expressly permits it, you may not decompile, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive its source code. All intellectual property in the app, its name and its branding remains with the developer.
3. What the app does
StoragePilot examines the storage on your device and helps you remove files you choose to remove. It shows what it finds, and you decide what happens to it. The app is a tool that acts on your instructions; it is not a backup service, a recovery service, or a guarantee about the state of your device.
4. Deletion is permanent, and it is your decision
This is the most important section in this document. Please read it.
- Every deletion is confirmed by you. The app never removes anything on its own. Each removal shows how many files are affected and how much space will be freed before anything happens.
- Deleted files are generally not recoverable. Files removed through the app do not reliably go to a recycle bin or trash, and the developer cannot restore them for you. Neither can Google, or your device manufacturer.
- You are responsible for what you select. The app categorises files as junk, duplicates, screenshots or oversized using automated rules. Those rules are careful, but they are still rules — review what is selected before you confirm.
- Back up anything you cannot lose. Before a bulk deletion, and especially before clearing photos or videos, make sure anything irreplaceable already exists somewhere else.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use StoragePilot to:
- delete or alter files on a device you do not own or lack permission to modify;
- destroy evidence, records or data you are under a legal or contractual obligation to keep;
- break any applicable law, or interfere with the security or normal operation of a device or network;
- distribute a modified version of the app, or present it as your own.
6. Data and privacy
StoragePilot does not collect, transmit or store your personal data. Everything it does runs on your device. The details are set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Third-party services
If you installed the app from Google Play, your download is also governed by Google’s own terms. The developer does not control Google Play and is not responsible for it. The app itself contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking components.
8. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that its categorisation of any file is correct, or that it is compatible with every Android device or version. Storage figures come from the operating system and are reported as given.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, files, photos, profits, goodwill or business, arising out of or connected with your use of the app — including loss caused by deleting a file you did not intend to delete.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have consumer rights these terms cannot affect.
10. Availability and changes to the app
The app may be updated, changed or discontinued at any time. Features may be added or removed between versions. The developer is not obliged to provide support, updates or continued availability, though the intention is to keep the app maintained.
11. Ending the agreement
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. The developer may end it if you breach these terms. The sections covering deletion, warranties, liability and governing law (sections 4, 8, 9 and 12) survive the end of the agreement.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Governing jurisdiction not published yet, and the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
This does not remove any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in your own courts, and the rights that law gives you apply regardless of anything above.
13. Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and material changes will be noted in the changelog. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
